Twenty-two years of teaching English law in Bangladesh

The Equitas School of Law was founded in Dhanmondi in 2004 with a handful of students and one conviction: that a student in Dhaka should receive a legal education as good as any in London. It has grown into the country’s longest-established centre for UK law degrees, and in 2026 it opened its own purpose-built campus in Rupganj, Narayanganj.

What we have done

More than 3,200 students have completed their UK law degrees with Equitas, reading for the LLBs of the University of London, Northumbria, Nottingham Trent and BPP University. Over 500 of them have since been called to the Bar of England and Wales. Our alumni practise in Dhaka, London, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney, sit in chambers and in-house legal teams, and have gone on to postgraduate study at Cambridge and other leading law schools.

What we teach

Equitas provides tuition for UK LLB degrees, the Graduate Diploma in Law and the LLM in Legal Practice as the exclusive Bangladesh partner of The College of Legal Practice, A Level Law and Government & Politics, Pre-Bar and Bar Transfer Test preparation, and the Bangladesh Bar Council Advocateship course. Classes run both on campus and online, with every session recorded and sent to students the same day.

How we teach

Every class ends with a problem. Every problem is written up. Every script is marked line by line, the way an examiner would mark it. Our Head of Laws, Barrister Sayed-Ul-Haque, is the first and only University of London Worldwide Recognised Tutor in Bangladesh, and the faculty are practising barristers and advocates who bring the courtroom into the classroom.

Beyond the degree

Equitas Educare guides students through Inn membership, Bar course and LLM applications and credit transfers. The Honourable, launched in 2026, is Bangladesh’s first complete law magazine, edited from Equitas and open to lawyers, judges, teachers and students. The Equitas Merit Awards each year honour our highest-achieving students.

Two campuses

Dhanmondi, in the heart of Dhaka, and the Rupganj Campus, a green, solar-powered building with a courtyard, library hall, moot court and garden, built so that a law student has what a law student needs.
